ITP Thesis: Planet X

Being inside the artists and designer community, I have always thought about how to showcase my work. Deriving from the traditional gallery and exhibition and after going through the two-year-long pandemic period, maybe I can come up with an idea to build something that is online, accessible, and universal. PlanetX was therefore initiated. PlanetX is an online artist and designer community with augmented reality support. Creators can upload their works onto the hub and showcase their work by geolocation.

AR BonSai Design

A piece of BonSai that resumes time and space, and is light enough to carry around. This Bonsai is in virtual form and it replays the cycle of seasons. As living in a concrete urban site, I sometimes hardly find the opportunity to go out often. New York cityscapes are hard to tell the changes unless the temperature hits you. Thus, I create a colorful BONSAI piece to appreciate nature and reflect the good memories that I spend outside the city. The user can move and pan the piece around.

AR Interaction Design

Adding diversity in the current automotive HMI designs by bringing bold component designs for users who are in favor of pop cultures, regardless of the universal design interfaces for all-age groups.

La Luna

Thinking about what the afterlife would feel like. This project is a gamified experience for users to act like spirits and go through an imaginary world to reach to the sky.

Dream Bubble

This project is designed to create an immersive environment for players, to explore space to reduce stress by virtual reality technologies. Dream Bubble is inspired by a violation of excessive social media influence in personal domains. This virtual space builds a vacancy in daily life to help people meditate themselves. The geometric living creatures and the vivid ambient colors express the paradoxes of personal borders. virtual space with animated "living animals" and mechanics hidden in the landscapes: these objects will trigger spontaneously when the user contacts them.

From Like to High-Five

This is a case study project that helps me sort out some interesting innovative social interaction effects with the emerging increasing demand for 3d interactions on either screen or in mixed reality scenarios.

Sections of the Seasons

This series of illustrations came out as editorial postcard prints and mobile versions. When I started to work on it, the main motivation was to create something that my beloved family members and friends would feel my appreciation of nature in these touchable and deliverable formats.
